Beings & Creatures: Between the Found and the Constructed

Wide wall installation of yellow wood cutout figures by Ernst Koslitsch, Beings & Creatures, rotor, Graz

Hey U2, This Is the Last Night on Earth (Yellow Universe)!, installation view, rotor, Graz

Part of Beings & Creatures: Between the Found and the Constructed, the third chapter of a four-part exhibition series at rotor, Graz. Koslitsch's contribution, Hey U2, This Is the Last Night on Earth (Yellow Universe)!, is a spatial wall installation built from yellow Doka construction-site panels, arranged as a kind of picture puzzle populated by sculpted creatures drawn from the ongoing Yellow Universe series, itself rooted in Stone Age wall paintings of composite beings. The work moves between mythopoeia and mythomania, tracing how perception tips into conspiracy, manipulation and deception. Read more at Catapult Contemporary →
